On November 9, 2006, the third performance of the Rombix project took place in the Moscow “Rotonda” club, using tape loops and other sound materials. The next day, in his studio, Roman recorded a collage-mixtape "Postrotonda", trying to reproduce the program he had played the day before in live mode.

Fragments of unpublished Rombix tracks and other prepared material dated from the late 1980s to 2006 were used as the original sounds reproduced from the tapes.

In "Rotonda", in addition to the prepared loops, the fresh track "Tape Machine" was tested for the first time, the drums for which were recorded using the Soviet analogue rhythm machine "Estradin-11", and the bass and the main synth chord were taken from the synthesizer "Solaris" ("Estradin-314").

During the performance itself and its subsequent reconstruction, Roman used two modified tape recorders for more flexible control of the tape loops. Variable resistors were installed on the motors of the tape drives, which changed the playback speed of the loops, and the “reverse” button allowed to switch between their different sides. And both of these manipulations were possible without stopping the rotation of the tapes.

The use of sounds without recognizable temporal references, the combination of natural and artificial, rustle of tape loops, spontaneous interference in the nature of their playback and the unpredictable overlay of sounds on each other - all this generates that swaying and constantly changing stream in which the perception of space and time changes.

For the first time, the "Postrotonda" mix was published on Roman's own pages in the spring of 2018 after almost 12 years of maturation in the author's archives, and after another 3 years it is included in the Kartaskvazhin label catalog.

Images from videos filmed by Roman on a tube camera (a view of an old analog video camera) were used as the source material for the release design at Kartaskvazhin. Each cassette has its own unique cover, made up of 2 original images, selected by a random number generator. A total of 15 pieces were made.

The digital version of the release includes a pdf-booklet with all covers.

9 ноября 2006 года в московском клубе “Ротонда” состоялось третье по счету выступление проекта Rombix с использованием пленочных петель и других звуковых материалов, воспроизводимых с магнитных лент. На следующий день у себя в студии Роман записал коллаж-микстейп “Postrotonda”, попытавшись в лайв-режиме воспроизвести сыгранную накануне программу.

В качестве исходных звуков, воспроизводимых с пленок, были использованы фрагменты неопубликованных треков Rombix и прочие заготовленные материалы, датированные периодом с конца 1980-х и до 2006 г.

В «Ротонде» помимо подготовленных петель впервые был опробован свежий трек “Tape Machine”, барабаны для которого были записаны с помощью советской аналоговой ритм-машине «Эстрадин-11», а бас и основной синт-аккорд взяты с синтезатора «Солярис» («Эстрадин-314»).

Во время самого выступления и последующей его реконструкции Роман использовал два модифицированных магнитофона для более гибкого управления пленочными петлями. На моторы лентопротяжных механизмов были установлены переменные резисторы, изменяющие скорость воспроизведения петель, а кнопка “реверс” позволяла переключаться между разными их сторонами. И обе эти манипуляции были возможны без остановки вращения лент.

Использование записей без узнаваемых временных отсылок, совмещение природного и искусственного, шелест пленочных петель, спонтанные вмешательства в характер их воспроизведения и непредсказуемое наложение звуков друг на друга - все это порождает тот колышущийся и постоянно меняющийся поток, в котором меняется восприятие пространства и времени.

Впервые микс “Postrotonda” был опубликован на собственных площадках Романа весной 2018 года после почти 12-летнего вызревания в авторских архивах, а спустя еще 3 года он попадает в каталог Картаскважин.

В качестве исходного материала для оформления релиза на Картаскважин использованы изображения с видеороликов, снятых Романом на трубочную камеру (вид старой аналоговой видеокамеры). Каждая кассета имеет свою уникальную обложку, составленную из 2х исходных изображений, выбранных генератором случайных чисел. Всего изготовлено 15 шт.

Цифровая версия релиза содержит pdf-буклет со всеми обложками.
